Topic: OOFEG

While running oofeg I get nice contour plots of stress and strain for my model.  However when I try to  <beam forces/moments>  oofeg shuts down completely.  Do I need to use another program to see these values? Also, when I try the <plot damage> under <scalar plot> the entire screen goes blank or there is an animation of the movement of the elements but the color contours do not appear. How can I have the color contours appear? Thanks for the help.

Hi,

when you have encountered an error, it would be very helpful if you could provide corresponding input file, so I can check and fix the problem.
In general, not all elements can plot beam forces/moments, this works with beam and plate elements, similarly, damage can be shown only on certain material models that define damage level. But of course, selecting such an option should not break the program execution.

Hi

I noticed that you have used ISOLE material model which does not define damage value, hence you dont get any such plots in the oofeg. if you are interested in the damage contour plots, you could try idm material model which is an isotropic elastic material with a scalar damage parameter.
