Geometry of specimen

Constitutive model Nonlocal Isotropic damage
Constitutive Properties Young's modulus 30 [GPa], Poisson's ratio 0.18  limit, max effective strain at peak (e0) 0.00011666666667,  crack opening when tension stress vanishes (ef) 0.0059953333333, Nonlocal averaging radius 10.0 [mm], equivalent strain of Rankine type
Error Estimator&Indicator Damage level
Remeshing criteria Default mesh size (500) for regions with no damage. Inside damaged regions linear interpolation of mesh density, here taken as constant (4).  Initial mesh consists of 485 nodes  and 1958 linenar tetrahedra elements, final mesh has 35905 nodes and  200560 elements.

The evolution of llongitudinal stress during the loading process shown on adaptive discretization (only surface mesh is shown). The red zone is related to the highest tension stress. As the crack propagates across the specimen body, the tension region moves accordingly.  Damage parameter evolution shown on adaptive discretization.
