UNV2OOFEM package

UNV2OOFEM package is a converter from UNV to OOFEM input native format.

UNV

UNV is a output data format from several mesh generators, for example Salome: http://www.salome-platform.org/

How to get the unv2oofem

The unv2oofem is a part of the svn OOFEM distribution or it can be easily downloaded from the OOFEM home page, site:http://www.oofem.org/svn/trunk/tools/http://www.oofem.org/wiki/lib/exe/fetch.php?w=120&h=67&media=10.jpg The unv2oofem package consists from three files:

  • oofemctrlreader.py
  • unv2oofem.py
  • unv2x.py

The unv2x.py file is a base code written by J.Cugnoni, http://www.caelinux.com under the GPL licence, this file creates an internal FEM object structure in memory. Unv2oofem.py takes the structure from the unv2x.py and oofemctrlreader.py and writes the OOFEM native input file.

How to use the unv2oofem

The first thing is to have the dataset in UNV format, the topology (elements, nodes, edges and so on) which should be imported to OOFEM must be a part of any group defined in the UNV file. For example in Salome can be the groups easily defined by clicking to the icon “create group” in the menu bar.
